Furnace & AC Tune-Ups in Durham Region

A tune-up is the cheapest way to avoid the expensive call. Most breakdowns we get called to in January and July were preventable — dirty flame sensors, weak capacitors, plugged filters, low refrigerant. An hour of maintenance catches them before they leave you without heat or AC.

What a tune-up covers

  • Furnace: clean and inspect burners and flame sensor, check heat exchanger, test safety controls, check gas pressure, inspect venting, replace or clean filter, full cycle test.
  • Air conditioner: check refrigerant level, clean condenser coil, test capacitors and contactor, check electrical connections, flush the condensate drain, full cycle test.
  • Heat pump: both of the above, plus defrost cycle and reversing valve check.

When to book

Furnaces: early fall, before the first cold snap. Air conditioners: spring, before the first heat wave. Booking in the shoulder season means you’re not waiting behind everyone’s emergency calls — and neither are we.

Why bother

Keeps efficiency up, extends equipment life, and keeps manufacturer warranties valid — most of them require annual maintenance. If we find something worn, you hear about it while it’s a small fix, not a big bill.

We’re based in Courtice and work all over Durham Region — Oshawa, Whitby, Ajax, Pickering, Bowmanville. Licensed TSSA gas technicians. When you call, you talk to us, not a call centre.

Common questions

How often should I get a furnace tune-up?

Once a year, ideally in early fall before the heating season. AC units benefit from a spring check. Annual maintenance keeps manufacturer warranties valid and catches small problems before they become no-heat calls.

What does a tune-up include?

A full inspection and cleaning: burners, heat exchanger check, ignition and safety controls, blower, filters, thermostat check, and a combustion test on gas equipment. If something is wearing out, you hear about it while it is a small fix, not a big bill.

Do I need a tune-up if my furnace is new?

Yes. Most manufacturers require annual maintenance to keep the warranty valid. A new unit that never gets serviced can void its warranty and still fail early.

How long does a tune-up take?

Usually 60 to 90 minutes. We work around your schedule, including evenings where possible. Call or text 905-924-3657 to book.
